Florida Highway Patrol investigating accident in Dunedin, Florida

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are presently examining a deadly accident that happened on CR-1 at Manning Road. The accident happened a little before 10 a.m. on July 3, 2021.

Early information from FHP says the now passed female driver, a 39 year-old woman from Dunedin, was driving her SUV southward on CR-1 moving toward Manning Road.

The second vehicle, driven by a 61 year-old Dunedin lady was driving northward in within path of CR-1 in a SUV. A Tampa Bay bus driven by a 40 year-old Palm Harbor man was following behind the previous vehicle.

For some reason, the driver of the southward SUV failed to control the vehicle and turned into the northward travel paths and crashed into the front of the northward SUV. After the effect, the northward SUV was then diverted into the way of and struck by Tampa bus.

Each of the three vehicles crashed and came to a rest in the northward paths and shoulder of CR-1.

At first two medivac helicopters were mentioned to react to the scene as removal was started to free two of the drivers. The two helicopters were eventually dropped. The driver of the southward SUV kicked the bucket at the location of the accident and the driver of the other SUV was moved to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with wounds portrayed as non dangerous.
