Texting While Driving

Recent studies show, texting while driving has become one of the most destructive behaviors that can be practiced on the road. Pedestrians and bicyclists are always at the mercy of those who are behind the wheel; when drivers are distracted by their phones, they are even more likely to lose control of their cars and strike another vehicle or person. Because of their relative inexperience and lack of maturity, teens are considered to be the most likely to text while driving. As many as 50% of teen drivers have admitted to texting while on the road.
Such distracted driving practices are incredibly dangerous. Cars controlled by inattentive teens or irresponsible drivers are involved in over 20% of injury-causing accidents. Pedestrians and bicyclists are essentially powerless against these threats, and victims of these accidents oftentimes face exorbitant medical bills and lengthy recovery periods.

In response to this, many states have passed laws for the sole purpose of protecting citizens from distracted drivers. Victims are entitled to compensation for any costs, inconveniences, or pain that they have suffered at the hands of an irresponsible driver. If you believe that you or a loved one is eligible for such compensation, you should contact a lawyer immediately. Texting behind the wheel is an immensely hazardous practice, and you deserve protection against the actions of irresponsible drivers.
