Pedestrian killed in bizarre accident in Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, Florida State Police said that early on Saturday morning (July 24), a person died after being hit by a passing vehicle on I-95. A report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) stated that before 6:00 a.m., a vehicle was driving south on the interstate, a few miles north of Exit 265 on LPGA Avenue. A walker was standing on the side of the road. According to the report, the pedestrian decided to lay down in the middle of the street. The approaching vehicle was not able to stop, and the police said it would be chaotic to prevent passers-by from being hit. The following vehicles were unable to leave passers-by anyway and ran into him. The police say that different vehicles hit the pedestrian. A semi-truck driver called FHP and said they might have run over human remains and debris on the street.

The agent pointed out that, given the condition of the pedestrian, the inspector could not correctly identify the victim. The only person distinguished in the FHP report was a 30-year-old Jacksonville passenger who was driving the vehicle behind. As of 11:00 am, I-95 was still dealing with delays on both sides of the street. The story continues to be reviewed.
