10 year old killed in 4 corners

The Florida Highway Patrol was recently investigating a car crash that unfortunately killed hit a 10-year-old girl who was crossing the street in the Osceola County area of Four Corners on Wednesday night, said Lt. Kim Montes of the FHP.

The accident happened on U.S. 192 and Avalon Road at about 9:15 p.m. Witnesses told troopers the young lady was crossing U.S. 192 with a few different kids not at a crosswalk when a car hit her, as indicated by a FHP discharge.

The young lady was taken to the emergency room where she passed moments later.

The car's driver, a 71-year-old Kissimmee man, was not harmed. He remained at the scene until troopers showed up, Montes said.

The mishap shut the eastward paths of U.S. 192 for longer than an hour Wednesday as troopers examined.
